While I didn't match the young woman, I did end up matching another person (a Jewish woman in her 40s). Donating bone marrow was a simple procedure (and your body naturally replaces the bone marrow that you donate over a couple weeks or so). Doing this meant the world to her and her family and gave me the gift of having had the opportunity to perform a rare mitzvah that continues to give me good feelings about myself 20 years later.
